Wagner Can't Hold Lead

Billy Wagner could not hold a lead against a little league team in a game that really mattered. No wonder the American League All Star team hit him like they would Aaron Heilman. Wagner is a disgrace. The fact that he blew 6 saves meant he should not have been there in the first place. As I read on another blog, he was the worst pick for an All Star in the history of the game.

I am an N.L. fan and although it is hard, I pull for the Mets All Stars on this one night a year. It reminded me of when he was a Phillie. The games you really needed him, he would blow the game. I couldn't wish his services on anyone more than I do the Mutts, I mean Mets.

Burrell, Howard Snubbed, Hurdle makes Wrong Choice

I don't want to sound bitter here so I am going to do my best to stick with facts. Pat Burrell and Ryan Howard both deserved to be All Stars long before David Wrong, I mean Wright. Look at the numbers for yourself. Batting average, about the same. Homeruns, Burrell by 5. Wright has him in RBI's but look where he hits in the order and the lack of production around him (Beltran and Delgado? Give me a break!). Burrell gets the leftovers from Chase Utley and Ryan Howard.

Speaking of Howard, he is the first player in 60 years to lead the league in homeruns and RBI's to not make the All Star team. Hank Sauer was the last player in that did not make the All Star team in 1948 with the Cincinnati Reds with 24 homeruns and 64 RBI's. Ironically Richie Ashburn was one of the players that made that squad.
