Heartless, Gutless, Useless

Yes, I am thinking about Billy Wagner who needs an MRI to see if he has a heart. Well, he says it is for his left forearm but isn't it easy to use an injury to explain away a dismal season where he has already blown 7 saves. Wagner figures if he goes on the disabled list it will lessen his chances of tying the all time record for saves blown in a season which is 14.

As I said in my last post, I am so glad he has taken his heartless play out of our town and can go play with the rest of the broken down old players in Flushing. The Mets are falling apart physically and mentally, isn't it great!

By the way, I heard Moises Alou, John Maine, and Wagner were going golfing tomorrow. I wonder who else will come up lame to fill their foursome?

Stick a Fork in Him, Wagner's Done

Pat Gillick knew what he was doing was he refused to offer Billy Wagner that fourth season that the Mets went ahead and gave him. I remember thinking 4 years was long but we were losing a top closer. I concede, Gillick was right. I also remember the Phillies missing the playoffs because Wagner could not save a game against his former team, the Astros. Well, now Wagner has 2 former teams he has problems closing as he has blown games to both the Stros and the Phillies.

Wagner has 7 blown saves. 7! Talk about pitching your team out of the race. Wagner is a head case, is past his prime, and is on his way down. Of course he fits right in as the Mets always get players a year or two past their prime and wonder why they can not get the job done! Too bad rotten apples!
